The MDHI holds faculty and students to the highest standards for ethical community engagement and digital practices. As with all research conducted at Lehigh, conduct of your projects must adhere to University policies, including those pertaining to human subjects. Note that the process of receiving IRB approval may take up to two months, so please plan ahead.
In addition to IRB review for applicable projects, the MDHI looks to ensure that all projects, partnerships and courses are conducted in respectful collaboration with community residents and organizations. Students and faculty are expected to obtain consent from participating community members or organizations, to make their project design transparent to community members participating in the project, and to address any concerns about the project expressed by participating individuals.
